It is sometimes hard for me to wrap my mind around the sheer number of people who are suffering from AIDS in Africa. I hear about the millions of people who have died or are dying and it honestly becomes overwhelming. It is easy to become numb to what is going on over there because of the brute force of the numbers. I”ve found that the best way to break through the numbness is to connect the suffering with actual people.

A project sponsored by the Washington Post does just that. A short film titled “Bloodline: AIDS and Family by Kristen Ashburn” puts a face and name to the numbers that we hear about so often. I challenge you to watch it and break through the numbness.
