monday is for music: fiction plane
| July 9th, 2007
I’ve just recently been introduced to the band Fiction Plane, an alt-rock group based out of London. They have a catchy sound that I like quite a bit. Here’s the interesting thing about the band: it’s fronted by Sting’s son, Joe Sumner. His voice definitely reminds me of his father’s, and ironically enough he plays the bass as well.
Fiction Plane is playing a free concert this Sunday at the Seasongood Pavilion in Cincinnati at 5pm. I’m planning on heading down to catch the show with a couple of friends. We might even see Sting and a couple of guys from The Police join his son as well for the show! Sting and The Police are playing in Louisville on Saturday and in Cleveland on Monday and they’ve been known to play with Fiction Plane several times already…so…who knows! Either way it should be a good show.
They just played here in Hawaii… the show totally ROCKED! I didn’t even know that Sting’s son fronted the band Fiction Plane!! Amazing… truly Amazing! The first show sold out in a matter of minutes. So a second show was added!! I’m so glad they added the second show… other wise I wouldn’t have gotten any tickets. The second show sold out in minutes as well. Usually you’ll see scalpers trying to sell tickets… but this time… they were actually asking to buy tickets (go figure)! I fell in love with The Police at a very young age. My first album was The Police. Hence my crush on Sting… hehehe!
Anyways, I figured I comment since I hap-hazardly ended up here on your lil’ column or blog… whatever it is… hahaha! I was initially researching Fiction Plane and came across this. Nice… keep up the great work!
Aloha from Hawaii!
