cold water and a busy life
| June 2nd, 2005I just got back from swimming a few minutes ago. I’m still shivering! The water was so incredibly cold, not to mention its only like 60-something degrees out. I swam for maybe 15 minutes. If that. It only took that long for my body to become numb and my muscles to stop working. Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, right? : )
I went running yesterday too down at Sugarcreek Metro Park. I’ll have to say…I think it is now my favorite place to run! Joe was with me when I went, and we ran the green 3.1 mile circuit in 28 minutes. I was a little surprised I was able to run it in that time. We set a decent pace which was slower than what I usually run, which was why I think I was able to run the whole circuit without a break. I’m looking forward to running there again soon.
I’m planning a long bike-ride tomorrow afternoon…and then some vollyeball with friends in the evening. Should be fun!
So that’s the training update. Other than that, small groups finished up yesterday and we’re kicking of THRIV next Wednesday. I’m looking forward to getting feedback from my small group leaders on small groups this past year so that we can improve and retool over this summer. I’m also working on developing a team of volunteers to help with the various computer projects that need to get done at church.
As far as Simple Letter goes, we’re releasing a new shirt in the next 2 weeks, as well as launching another Shirt Boxing competition…this time between two girls shirts. Pretty exciting stuff! 114 Design is also moving along. We’re finishing up several projects and hopefully will be starting more soon afterward.
All of that being said, it’s probably obvious my life is quite busy. Almost too busy, I’d say. I’m finding my time with God scattered here and there…definitely not a good thing. I’m going to try to work on that over the next week, evaluating what I need to stop doing in order to spend the time I need to with my Creator.
